Alone

Alone is de 3de single (voor europa) van het album Taking Chances, maar Céline is niet de eerste die het nummer opgenomen en uitgebracht heeft. Het is voor het eerst opgemomen en uitgebracht door I-Ten in 1983 op het album Taking a Cold Look, daar na heeft John Stamos het opgenomen en uitgebracht, maar het is pas echt een hit geworden door de rockband Heart in 1987, 20 jaar later is het nummer nieuw leven in geblazen door Céline.

Alone is geschreven door Billy Steinberg en Tom Kelly en geproduceerd door Ben Moody ex-lid van de band Evanencence, en terug te vinden op Taking Chances

Céline heeft Alone meerdere malen tijdens TV shows gezongen om het album Taking Chances te promoten, hiervoor heeft ze ook een aantal Europese langen aangedaan waaronder het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Frankrijk. Daardoor, en mede door de mogelijkheid het nummer te downloaden als single stond het al snel in de UK single charts op nummer 85, en snel daarna stond het in de Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles in de VS op nummer 24 en in de Canadian Hot 100 op nummer 57.

Oficieel is Alone uitgebracht in December 2007 in Zweden, en al de volgende maand stond het in de Single Chart doordat het zo goed verkocht online, Mede daardoor werd het in januari 2008 ook uitgebracht in andere landen in Europa als download single, Céline die in die tijd in Frankrijk was voor opnames van Star Academy heeft daar het nummer toen ook live gezongen en is besloten om de radio single tegelijk uit te brengen met de radio single van A Cause. In eind maart is Alone gelanceerd als radio single in Canada en midden april in de VS

Pas op 5 mei is de single in het Verenigd Koninkrijk als download single uitgebracht mede doordat Céline Alone tijdens de Taking Chances tour in de songlist had gezet.

Alone kunnen we naast dat het op Taking Chances staat ook terug vinden op My Love: Essential Collection.
